Is Huawei prepping the world’s first smartphone with 512 GB storage?

Huawei may be readying a smartphone with 6 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. The configuration was spotted in a device listing on the Chinese communications commission website TENAA [translated] (via PhoneRadar), though it's not known which upcoming handset it could relate to.

TENAA is the source of many rumors as smartphones receive certification, yet there are no guarantee that devices spotted there will ever be officially released. The information, however, is clear in that the Huawei device "NEO-AL00" has the aforementioned configuration—and should it be released soon, it would become the first smartphone to ever house such as spec.

Which type of memory Huawei would use is another question: the company doesn't produce its own mobile storage components (though it has other storage solutions). Samsung was said to have started production on the world's first 512 GB UFS storage for smartphones in December: would it let Huawei break the ground using its new tech? We don't know, but it's not unusual for Samsung to supply components to a major rival.

Huawei is set to launch of the P20 and P20 Pro in Paris next Tuesday; however, neither has been speculated to come with such a memory capacity. This would no doubt be a device for later in the year, perhaps the rumored Mate 20 or Mate 20 Porsche Edition?
