Huawei P20 color comparison: Get the twilight one

Huawei has officially announced the P20 and P20 Pro, and they are hot. Both models come in a number of colors that will suit almost anyone's needs, from a standard black to a mesmerizing new twilight variant.

What do each of these colors actually look like? We were able to go hands-on with every single color option available — except champagne gold, unfortunately. Below you'll find hands-on images of the Huawei P20 and P20 Plus in black, twilight, pink gold, and midnight blue.

Without any further delay, here are the Huawei P20 colors:

Black

The black model of the device is, surprisingly enough, one of the more interesting color options for me. Because the body is made of glass, it is quite reflective and seems to absorb the color of the room around you. For this reason, the phone never really seemed truly black — more mixed with the tones of the yellow room I was taking pictures in.

Still, black remains one of the most neutral colors you can get in a device. If you want something that won't stand out all that much but will still look good in just about any setting, this may be the color for you.

Midnight blue

Midnight blue is a great option for those that want something a little more… royal. It's a nice deep blue color that doesn't shout loudly in your face, and should look great with a number of different outfits — if that's something that's important to you.

I would get this color if I wanted something other than black, but still wanted my phone to be subtle. This shouldn't stick out too much among the many other phones on the market right now, but looks quite nice in its own right.

Champagne gold

Champagne gold is the color for those who want just that — a gold phone. The name is incredibly fitting, as it looks just like freshly poured champagne. This option is definitely very striking, and will fit well for anyone that wants to show off their mobile device.

Unfortunately this color is only available for the P20 — those of you looking for a champagne gold P20 Plus, you're out of luck.

While this color might not fit the bill for everyone out there, it's good to see Huawei offering options for those who love the color.

Pink gold

Pink gold is not exactly what you would expect it to be based on the name. It starts with the same champagne gold color described above, but transitions to a brighter pink option in a nice gradient. It's rare to see dual-colored phones like this, and the pink gold option is very striking.

While most rose gold devices are more gold than rose, the pink gold option retains the pink to a higher extent. If you've been looking for a truly pink phone that fades to a beautiful gold, this is one of the best options available right now.

Twilight

This is probably the most exciting color. It's not often that we see purple devices, and the twilight option transitions from a the midnight blue to a deep purple.

This color is much darker than the champagne gold variant, and is made for people that like stylishly done colors with a bit of flare. Twilight looks absolutely beautiful in just about any lighting condition, and actually looks almost solid blue under sunlight.

This is absolutely the color I would hope Huawei sends us for review, and I would be happy to rock this any day of the week.
