- Following the HTC Desire 12's specs leak, Android Headlines has leaked the Desire 12 Plus' alleged specifications.
- The Desire 12 Plus reportedly sports a 5.99-inch display, Snapdragon 450, 3 GB of RAM, and more.
- Release date, pricing, and images are still missing, though they should show up soon.
About two weeks ago, Android Authority confirmed that HTC will soon release the Desire 12 and obtained an image of the phone's retail box. HTC will reportedly not stop there, however, as Android Headlines obtained information regarding the upcoming Desire 12 Plus.
As the name suggests, the Desire 12 Plus features a larger 5.99-inch, 18:9 aspect ratio display with a 1,440 x 720 resolution. That compares to the 5.5-inch display on the regular Desire 12, though the display features the same aspect ratio and resolution.
The Desire 12 Plus reportedly sports an 8 MP camera above the display that features electronic image stabilization (EIS), while a 13 MP unit sits around back. The report did not say whether the Desire 12 Plus includes a fingerprint sensor, but seeing its prevalence in mid-range smartphones, we would be surprised if the phone does not come with one.
Speaking of mid-range, the Desire 12 Plus reportedly features Qualcomm's 64-bit, octa-core Snapdragon 450 processor, 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of expandable storage, and a 2,965 mAh battery. The Snapdragon 450 supports Qualcomm's Quick Charge 3.0 technology, though the included charging adapter is only rated for a 5V/1.5A output. The Desire 12 Plus presumably runs Android Oreo out of the box, since the same is said with the Desire 12.
With the phone's specifications reportedly out in the wild, it is only a matter of time before we see an image or render of the Desire 12 Plus itself. Pricing and release information will likely follow.
Here's hoping that the two Desire phones help turn HTC's fortunes around. HTC has $1.1 billion in the bank from its deal with Google, but the company reported poor financials for January. Mobile World Congress came and went without a peep from the Taiwanese company, but new announcements can't be far off.
