There's a fairly wide variety of music applications out there on the Google Play Store, but if you're looking for something new and exciting, check out Auracle by XDA Member Boomchaos. This application supports local music playback with custom equalizers and can import existing playlists, but its main appeal is its beautiful animations and Material Design interface. Screenshots don't do this app justice, so the developers have uploaded a GIF catalogue showcasing the app's animations. Check it out!
