- HMD Global has announced the Nokia 3.1 will be available in the U.S. July 2.
- HMD Global initially launched the Nokia 3.1 during an event in Russia in late May.
When HMD Global announced the Nokia 3.1, the company kept quiet on whether the phone would make it to the U.S. HMD Global finally answered that question today, when the company officially announced the Nokia 3.1 for the U.S.
The phone will be available from Amazon, Best Buy, and B&H Photo starting July 2 for $159. There are links at the bottom of the article for each retailer's listings.
The announcement might not surprise some people, since we already saw the Nokia 3.1 available for pre-order through Amazon and B&H Photo. Still, we no longer have to wonder if the phone will officially be sold in the U.S., with warranty and all.
As a recap, the Nokia 3.1 features a 5.2-inch display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and 1,440 x 720 resolution, 13MP primary camera, octa-core MediaTek MT6755 chipset, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage, 2,990mAh battery, and a headphone jack.
Even though there is a version with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, HMD Global made no mention of it in the press release we received via email. It looks like it may not be available in the U.S.
The Nokia 3.1 is also part of the Android One program. In addition to running a clean build of Android 8.1 Oreo, the phone will receive two years of major updates and three years of monthly security updates.
You can find the Nokia 3.1 at the links below. The phone is available in Blue and Copper, Black and Chrome, and White and Iron. We will update the post once Best Buy lists the phone on its site.
