Oppo Find X teased: Is a real Oppo flagship coming soon?

The Oppo Find 7 flagship arguably put the Chinese brand on the map, showcasing a number of nifty technologies. It's been years since we saw a bona fide flagship from Oppo though, but it looks like the Oppo Find X is coming.

The company has published a teaser image on its Weibo profile, complete with the 'Find X' name (h/t: My Smart Price). According to Google Translate, the post mentions the term "future flagship" too. The mobile brand has also changed its profile photo to 'Find X' as well.

We haven't seen any major leaks regarding the Oppo Find X, but we're expecting a Snapdragon 845 chipset, dual camera setup, and Oppo's trademark VOOC fast charging, for starters.

Could the company's unique zoom solution, shown off at MWC 2017, appear on the new flagship? Back then, Oppo showed off 5x zoom on a dual-camera smartphone, enabled by a prism.

Oppo's last cutting-edge flagship?

Oppo has a solid track record of bringing cool tech to the Find series. The Oppo Find 7 in particular delivered a 1440p display in 2014, joining the LG G3 in having a QHD resolution display. The handset also offered VOOC fast charging, claiming 75 percent capacity in 30 minutes. Then there was the nifty ability for the phone's software to churn out 50MP photos from the 13MP main camera.

Other than 2014's N3 (featuring a camera on a swivel), Oppo has largely stuck to budget-level devices or upper mid-range phones. The firm's most recent release, the Snapdragon 660-toting R15 Pro, wasn't quite what Android Authority's David Imel was looking for in a smartphone…
