It looks like the Galaxy Note 9 just stopped by the FCC

  • The FCC has a new Samsung phone listed for certification with the model number SM-N960F.
  • That's consistent with earlier model numbers in the Galaxy Note series, meaning this new phone is likely the Note 9.
  • Today's listing was posted one month earlier than the FCC's Galaxy Note 8 listing, which was made in late July 2017.

It's certainly looking like Samsung is going to launch the Galaxy Note 9 earlier this year compared to the Galaxy Note 8. The FCCn has just posted a listing (via Droid Life) for a new Samsung phone with the model number SM-N960F. That number is similar to previous model numbers in the Note series, such as SM-N950 for the Note 8 and SM-N930 for the Note 7.

The Galaxy Note 8 was listed on the FCC certification site on July 31, 2017, so the appearance of this new phone on June 25 would seem to indicate that the Note 9 is arrive a bit earlier than the Note 8 did last year. Previous rumors have claimed the phone could be officially announced during a Samsung Unpacked press event in New York City on August 9, followed by the phone going on sale a few weeks later.
