OnePlus 6/6T update hub: Stable Oxygen OS 10.3.0 ready for download

Update, December 27, 2019 (10:00 AM ET): OnePlus released and then pulled the stable Android 10 update for the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T in November. This was due to unexpected bugs in the update, forcing the company to fix things.

Once the company got a few things sorted out, it began rolling out the update again earlier this month. Now, OnePlus has pushed out a new update that fixes many of the issues with the old update and even adds in some new features.

Oxygen OS 10.3.0 is based on Android 10. Check out the official changelog below:

  • System
    • Updated system to Android 10
    • Brand new UI for Android 10
    • Fixed the automatic reboot issue
    • Added the notch area display option in the Settings (Settings – Display – Notch display – Hide the notch area)
    • Fixed the issue with lock screen appearing even after unlocking the device with the password

If you're excited to get the new update you have three ways of going about that. The first is the easiest which is simply to wait until you get the OTA notification. The second is a little more work but avoids the wait, which is to download the software to your phone and then perform a local upgrade. Finally, you can always use the amazing Oxygen Updater app. Never heard of this? Check out our guide here.

OnePlus 6 and 6T update

  • Current stable version: Android 10
  • When will the OnePlus 6 and 6T get Android 11? September 2020 – November 2020 (estimated)

The OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T both launched in 2018. The OnePlus 6 launched with Android 8.1 Oreo and the OnePlus 6T launched with Android 9 Pie. The OnePlus 6 got its Android 9 Pie update not long after the software landed for the public.

Now, both the unlocked variants of the OnePlus 6 and 6T have official updates to Android 10. It is very likely both devices will eventually see updates to Android 11 in 2020. However, the jury is still out on whether or not the two devices will get Android 12 in 2021.

The T-Mobile variant of the OnePlus 6T is still stuck on Android 9 Pie for now. That update will likely land in the near future though.
