Some months are better than others, but there is usually at least one great new game on mobile every month. Let's take a look at the best new Android games from the last month! You can watch the videos on YouTube from previous months by clicking here! You can also check out our picks for the best new Android games for 2018 in the video above!

Attack on Titan: Assault

Price: Free to play

Attack on Titan: Assault is a new mobile RPG with gacha elements. You know the drill. You can collect various characters from the Attack on Titan universe and use them to fight titans. However, the game play mechanics are actually a little more interesting than most games in the genre. There is a timing mechanic when attacking titans for maximum effect and the flashy combat style is a lot more interesting than most static mobile RPGs. The game also features online PvP and online cooperative play as well. It's a surprisingly strong entrant into the genre.

Cessabit

Price: $0.99

Cessabit is a new, simple puzzle game. It focuses more on relaxation rather than twitch gaming or excitement. That, plus the lack of violence and other similar elements, makes Cessabit an excellent family-friendly puzzler. The game includes hidden object and memory game elements with simple graphics. Players tap puzzles to see things and then remember them for later. The game comes with a couple of dozen levels, offline support, and it uses a paltry 35MB of space. That makes it great for gamers on a budget who also don't have at on of storage.

Dota Underworld

Price: Free

Dota Underworld is a spin-off of one of the most popular MOBAs in all of gaming. However, this one isn't a MOBA, it's a standalone version of DOTA Auto Chess. It's a strategy game with turn-by-turn combat elements. Players engage on a nine by nine grid with heroes. The winner is the player still stands when the chaos ends. There is a variety of online modes, including a spectator mode if you just want to watch. It's also completely free with no in-app purchases so it's friendly for budget gamers as well.

Dr. Mario World

Price: Free to play

Dr. Mario World is Nintendo's latest mobile game. It's a mobile port of the classic Dr. Mario game from the early 1990s. It plays very much like the same thing. It's basically Tetris with match-three mechanics. You move capsules around to match colors up with viruses in the level. Viruses disappear when you match three or more. You get a certain number of capsules per level. There is also online PvP, various abilities, and more. There probably should be more energy in the energy system and there are a few bugs here and there. However, it's still one of the better match-three games in recent years.

Human: Fall Flat

Price: $4.99

Human: Fall Flat is a goofy platformer with puzzle elements. It features an interactive world where you can play with basically every element of the game. You can run, jump, grab, climb, and carry almost everything you can see in the game world to solve the various puzzles. The game also features multiplayer, ten levels, and character customization. The main draw here are the game mechanics. They are truly goofy and it's fun to basically fling your character around the game world. Some reviewers complain about lag and control issues, but it's a relatively small number of players. It runs for $4.99 with no in-app purchases.

Layton: Diabolical Box

Price: $9.99

Layton: Diabological Box is the second game in the popular Professor Layton franchise. The game originally launched on the Nintendo DS over a decade ago and it's now on Android and iOS. Consequently, there are five total Layton games available on Google Play. This one is a puzzle game with adventure elements. Players solve a variety of puzzles to progress the story and finish the game. The port also includes extra brain teasers and slightly changes in mechanics for touch screen devices. Otherwise, the game is exactly like its Nintendo DS version. It runs for a slightly expensive $9.99, but it has no additional in-app purchases or ads.

LEGO Tower

Price: Free to play

LEGO Tower is the latest free to play LEGO game on Google Play. It plays quite a bit like the Tiny Tower franchise because the same developer makes both games. Players build a tower and fill it with little LEGO people. You can customize the tower and each room in various ways. The characters are customizable as well. You continue to build, give your LEGO people jobs, and goof around to provide yourself with the entertainment. There are also social elements such as visiting other towers and sending gifts. The free to play elements are quite mild so we wouldn't worry about it too much. However, it is a kids game, so you may want to be doubly careful to make sure they don't spend anything.

The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot

Price: Free to play

The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot is a free to play hack-and-slash adventure game from Ubisoft. Players complete levels by wandering around, killing bad guys, collecting loot, and other such things. The attack mechanics are very simple and it doesn't long to learn how to play. You also get over 100 levels, over 1,000 pieces of loot to find, and a goofy story. Unfortunately, the free to play mechanics are quite aggressive. It honestly gets in the way of the experience a good portion of the time. It's a nice little arcade fighter, but prepare for those in-app purchases because they are expensive.

ROME: Total War – Barbarian Invasion

Price: $4.99

ROME: Total War – Barbarian Invasion is a standalone DLC for the ROME: Total War game. It introduces barbarians into the fight for Rome with a bunch of new factions from the base game. The mechanics are about the same though and feature the same strategy elements as the original title. We still recommend the original title as well if you like strategy games. The developers put a handy list of compatible devices in the Google Play description. You should read it to see if your device is there before you buy. Otherwise, it's a good, if somewhat dry strategy game with few flaws.

Teppen

Price: Free to play

Teppen is a gacha game with card dueling elements. It's by the same developers as Puzzle & Dragons so you have an idea of what this one is like. However, this one is full of Capcom heroes, including character cameos from Monster Hunter, Street Fighter, Devil May Cry, Resident Evil, and others. It plays like most games in the genre. Players collect cards, build decks, and duel it out against AI players or other real players in PvP. You build MP to summon cards and the cards do what they do against the opponent. The game is a bit short, but it's also a free to play game so we're certain more content is coming in future updates.
