Triple camera toting Samsung Galaxy M30 launched in India

Hot on the heels of the Galaxy M10 and M20, Samsung has launched yet another handset in India. The Samsung Galaxy M30 rounds off the "millennial" focussed M series of devices at the upper end.

The highlight of the Galaxy M30 is the 6.4-inch Super AMOLED Infinity U display. Sporting a water drop notch, the phone has a Full HD+ resolution screen and looks rather good. We're liking what Samsung is doing with displays on the M series of phones.

The Galaxy M30 is powered by an Exynos 7904 chipset which is the same as the one on the Galaxy M20. This CPU is paired with 4GB or 6GB of RAM depending on the storage variant. On that note, the phone is available with either 64GB or 128GB of built-in memory. Storage can be expanded via a microSD card.

The Galaxy M30 has three cameras on the back of the phone. The primary shooter has a 13MP, f/1.9 sensor which is coupled with dual 5MP sensors which are used to capture ultra-wide images as well as depth information. A 16MP sensor can be found on the front of the handset.

The other major feature of the Galaxy M30 is the massive 5,000 mAh battery. The phone supports fast charging and ships with a 15W charger in the box.

How much does the Samsung Galaxy M30 cost?

The phone is priced at 14,999 rupees (~$210) for the 4GB RAM, 64GB storage version while the higher end variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage is priced at 17,999 rupees (~$250). The phone will be sold exclusively on Amazon.in and Samsung's online store starting March 5, 2019.

Between the online-only M series of phones and Samsung's upcoming AMOLED packing A series, the company is doubling down on the Indian market. But will that be enough to present a challenge to Xiaomi? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
