Deal: Essential Phone down to $435 at Amazon ($65-off)

We saw some fantastic deals for the Essential Phone (PH-1) towards the end of 2017, but just in case you missed out Amazon has dropped the price of Andy Rubin's flagship to just $435. That's a $65 saving on the list price currently showing on Essential's own store.

For your money, you'll be getting an unlocked, premium device with a sleek, branding-free design, a 13 MP dual-camera, and a pure Android OS experience enhanced by a stunning edge-to-edge, 5.7-inch, QHD resolution display.

Editor's Pick

Essential's debut phone is powered by Qualcomm's octa-core Snapdragon 835 processor, 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage space. It also supports a selection of bespoke mods, like a 360-degree 4K camera accessory, but you'll have to buy those separately.

It's worth noting that the PH-1 runs Android Nougat out-of-the-box. Essential is currently running an Oreo beta program that recently got bumped up to version 3, so it shouldn't be too long until a final build starts rolling out for all users.

Despite a handful of setbacks and hints of low sales numbers, the outlook for Essential's first phone has improved ever since the start-up opted to slash the device' lavish retail price from $699 to $499.

With further new features promised via software updates, as well as Essential's ongoing willingness to engage directly with its customers via AMAs, Amazon's current offer is certainly worth considering if you're after a new top-tier phone that will only get better in the months to come.
