Android 10 beta 6 landed about a month ago. Today, OnePlus is rolling out the fifth OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro Android 10 developer preview, which is based on that sixth beta from Google.
Although we're not certain, it's very likely that this will be the final developer preview release before we see a stable launch of Android 10 for the OnePlus 7 series.
The latest developer preview brings along a few notable upgrades, the largest of which is the integration of OnePlus' own gesture navigation system. This will work alongside Google's own gesture navigation system, but OnePlus fans generally seem to enjoy OnePlus' version better.
Check out the changelog for the fifth OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro Android 10 developer preview below:
- System functions improvement
- System stability improvement
- Added the OnePlus full-screen gestures
- Based on Google Android 10 Beta6
- For DP4 users, you can upgrade via online OTA
- From DP5, you can upgrade system via OTA to Open Beta
There are still some bugs present with this release, though, most notably Google Pay problems. There are also some other compatibility issues with various applications, although OnePlus says there is a "low probability" of system lag and other stability problems.
As noted in the changelog above, it appears that if you install this fifth developer preview on your device, you will be able to "dirty flash" your way to the open beta, which presumably will launch alongside or slightly before the stable build of Android 10. This heavily suggests that this will be the final developer preview for the OnePlus 7 series.
