Screen repairs can be extremely expensive in today's era of curved smartphones, but costs could sky-rocket with the move to foldable phones.
People who buy the Samsung Galaxy Fold can take advantage of a special offer from the Korean company though. A leaflet inside the box notes that users are entitled to one out-of-warranty Galaxy Fold screen repair at $149. Check out the leaflet below.
This price is actually cheaper than screen repair costs for Samsung's Galaxy S10 series, with the Galaxy S10 Plus screen repair putting you out by $269. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S10e repair will set you back $199.
As for a second, out-of-warranty Galaxy Fold screen repair? We've asked both Huawei and Samsung about foldable screen repair costs since MWC, and neither company has confirmed pricing.
We'll likely hear more about screen repair costs when the Galaxy Fold and Huawei Mate X launch in more markets (or launch in general, in the case of the Huawei device). But I wouldn't be surprised if a standard screen repair costs the same as a mid-range or affordable flagship phone.
