Computex 2017 has kicked off in Taipei and Android Authority is at the show to bring you all of the announcements. We've already seen product reveals from ASUS, and had a chance to catch up with Computex head Walter Yeh to find out why this year's show is a big deal. We'll have more product news to come over the next few days.

What is Computex 2017?
Computex is one of the world's biggest computer and technology trade shows, established in 1981. Taking place in Taipei, Taiwan, the event features product announcements and presentations from world famous technology brands, similar to the likes of IFA and CES.
It's not a place traditionally for mobile product announcements, which is why it might not be on the radar of Android fans. But the lines between the various mobile platforms are becoming increasingly blurred. With Computex 2017 set to offer a glimpse at the future of AR, VR, AI and IoT devices, there will plenty of exciting product news for Android users.
When is Computex 2017?
Computex 2017 kicks off for the public tomorrow, May 30, and runs until June 3. It's doors are open from today for the press.
What has launched at Computex 2017?
Taiwanese manufacturer ASUS was keen to make some noise on home soil with the launch of five new laptops: the Zenbook 3 Deluxe, Zenbook Pro and Zenbook Flip S, alongside the VivoBook S and Vivobook Pro. Those are all Windows-based machines, however.
ASUS also lifted the lid on a new smartphone, the ZenFone AR ZS571. This is a 5.7-inch, Tango-enabled device coming with a Snapdragon 821 processor and 8 GB of RAM. The handset will launch in Taiwan in mid-June, but it's also coming to the US in late June/early July — we'll have more news on this smartphone coming soon.
What's coming up at Computex 2017?
Taiwan itself is home to a number of native tech companies who may be keen to show off new products including Acer, MediaTek, and HTC, though the latter has ruled out an official presence there. This means we won't see any new VR-related products from HTC, but its Vive headsets will likely be on display to promote other, compatible products.
We're also expecting to see announcements from AMD, Qualcomm, Intel (possibly regarding its rumored Core i9 chips) and NVIDIA, who will have plenty to talk about on the AI front.
