Let’s take a look at what’s coming to Hulu (April 2019)

Each month, popular streaming service Hulu adds a variable number of movies and TV shows to its already-large catalog of content. The first of the month is also a somber occasion, as Hulu also removes a certain amount of content at the end of the month.

So what's all new on Hulu for the month of April? Let's take a look! First, we'll highlight a few of the most important additions and then we'll talk about what else this month has in store for Hulu subscribers.

New on Hulu – April 2019 highlights

Steve Jobs: The Man in the Machine (March 13)

Former Theranos CEO Elizabeth Holmes isn't the only high-profile Silicon Valley juggernaut that director Alex Gibney profiled — he also took a look at the late Steve Jobs. Steve Jobs: The Man in the Machine takes a balanced look at Jobs' legacy as a brilliant and brutal company executive, along with his greatest successes and failures. The movie begins streaming on Hulu April 14.

I Am the Night (April 18)

I Am the Night takes the production value of True Detective and uses the grisly Black Dahlia murder as its backdrop. The dark mini-series tells the real-life story of Fauna Hodel, whose grandfather was a prime suspect in the aforementioned crime. Chris Pine plays Jay Singletary, the journalist who encounters Hodel as he investigates her grandfather. I Am the Night is a bit heavy-handed with its noir-style trappings, but it's a good watch for crime drama fans.

A Quiet Place (April 2)

Best known for his role as Jim in The Office, John Krasinski takes a seat in the actor and director chairs for A Quiet Place. Also starring Emily Blunt, the post-apocalyptic movie features creatures that attack anything that makes noise. As a result, the movie is unique in that there's little to no speech — the protagonist and his family communicate with each other using American Sign Language (ASL). A Quiet Place is a master class in how to create an original thriller and communicate so much information without speech. It's easily a must-watch.
