  • HTC is bringing the U11 Plus to the Indian market.
  • Flipkart-exclusive available to order from tomorrow (February 7th) for Rs 56,990.
  • Regional model features 6 GB RAM, 128 GB storage in Sapphire Blue or Amazing Silver.

HTC is expanding the availability of the U11 Plus to India. The Taiwanese company's most recent flagship will retail in the region exclusively via Flipkart priced at Rs 56,990 (roughly $887).

The store page for the U11 Plus says "coming soon" for the time being, but Gadgets 360 reports that orders will go live from tomorrow (February 7th). The U11 Plus is available in Sapphire Blue or Amazing Silver and comes with a standard 12-month manufacturer warranty.

Editor's Pick

Judging by the listing, HTC has chosen to bring the 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage variant of the device to the Indian market. The base model that launched last November came with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB of internal storage as standard.

As a refresher, the HTC U11 Plus is essentially a souped-up version of the original U11 with an all-new 6-inch, 18:9 aspect ratio display (2,880 x 1,440 resolution, 536 ppi). It is powered by Qualcomm's octa-core Snapdragon 835 chipset and a 3,930 mAh non-removable battery. It also runs Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box.

As well as a stunning glass design, the U11 Plus comes with an impressive feature list, including three digital assistants (Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, and HTC Sense Companion), a squeezable Edge Sense frame, BoomSound speakers, a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, and an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.

It also sports a highly-praised 12 MP UltraPixel camera with f/1.7 aperture and 1.4 μm pixels on the rear, and an 8 MP selfie snapper.

Unfortunately, buyers in India miss out on the eye-catching Translucent color variant which made the phone really stand out from the pack last year. It could be worse, however – HTC has maintained that it has no plans to bring the U11 Plus to the US. HTC fans will be hoping that the rumored HTC U12 makes up for its absence.
