- Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus now available to pre-book in India.
- Buyers must pay Rs. 2,000 for a reservation coupon.
- Official launch in India, where pricing will be confirmed, expected in March.
Samsung finally lifted the lid on its latest flagships at MWC and with an official release date of March 16, it won't be long until most consumers around the world get their hands on the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus.
Unfortunately, the wait will be a little longer for buyers in India as the South Korean giant has yet to detail its launch plans for the region. Full pricing and availability details are expected in early March, but avid Galaxy fans can now pre-book a device to reserve the phone they want on launch day.
Unlike a simple pre-order, the pre-booking process is essentially a way of reserving a purchase slot before anyone else.
With the Galaxy S9 or S9 Plus, buyers will have to stump up Rs. 2,000 (around $31) for a coupon which can then be redeemed against the phone's full retail price.
This can all be done via Samsung India's online store. All you need to do is select either the regular or plus-sized model, pick a colorway (Midnight Black, Coral Blue, or Lilac Purple) and provide a few personal details to secure your place at the front of the queue. The same process applies to select Samsung retail stores via a bespoke Pre-book app.
When launch day arrives, those who have pre-booked will receive an SMS and/or email with all of the necessary details. Then it's just a matter of logging back into your Samsung account and applying the pre-book coupon at checkout. Nice and easy! Hit the button below to head to Samsung India's store page for yourself.
