Best high-end smartphone: Moto Z2 Force
When it comes to the best Motorola phones, you can't find better than the Z2 Force. The Moto Z2 Force is aimed at demanding users. It comes with top-of-the-line specs and a few features that make it stand out from the crowd.
One of them is support for Moto Mods, which gives the smartphone additional features or improves existing ones. There are a few features available, including a projector, a 360-degree camera, and even a case that protects the Z2 Force from bumps and bruises.

Best mid-range smartphone: Moto Z2 Play
The Moto Z2 Play might not be at the very top of this best Motorola phones list, but it's still a great option. Like the Z2 Force, the Moto Z2 Play supports Moto Mods that can be attached to the back of the device via magnets. It also comes with a 5.5-inch display but offers a lower Full HD resolution.
The mid-ranger sports a fingerprint scanner on the front that supports gestures, allowing you to swipe left and right, lock the screen, and more. It packs a 3,000 mAh battery that's bigger than that of the Z2 Force, but smaller when compared to the original Moto Z Play. According to Motorola, you'll be able to get up to eight hours of use with just a 15-minute charge.
The smartphone is also splash proof, has a headphone jack on board, and runs a near stock version of Android. Other specs include the Snapdragon 626 chipset, 3 or 4 GB of RAM, and a 12 MP primary camera. The Moto Z2 Play made its debut last June and will set you back $500 unlocked.

Moto G5
The Moto G5 is a compact mid-ranger with its 5-inch Full HD display. Although its specs won't blow your socks off, the device still packs more than enough power under the hood for the average user. It comes with the Snapdragon 430 chipset and 2 or 3 GB of RAM, depending on the region. The device has a metal body, sports a fingerprint scanner up front with support for gestures, and is equipped with a 13 MP primary camera. It features a 2,800 mAh battery and has a water-repellent nano-coating. The Moto G5 was announced at MWC 2017 and is available in a number of markets including Europe and India. It wasn't released in the US, but you can still get the international version on Amazon.
Moto G5 Plus
This is a bigger and more powerful version of the Moto G5. The device sports a 5.2-inch Full HD display, is powered by the Snapdragon 625 chipset, and comes with 2, 3, or 4 GB of RAM. It has a larger 3,000 mAh battery and is equipped with a 12 MP camera. Best budget smartphone: Moto E4
The specs of the Moto E4 probably won't impress you much, but its price might. The handset, which comes with a 5-inch HD display, the Snapdragon 425 or 427 chipset, and 2 GB of RAM, launched with a price tag of $130 in June. But you were able to get it from Verizon for only $70 if you signed up for one of its pre-paid plans.
The Moto E4 has a few features you wouldn't expect on a phone this affordable: a fingerprint scanner and a water-repellent nano-coating. It's also easy on the eyes and looks more expensive than it is.
The device is aimed at less demanding users looking to save some cash. It's still powerful enough for all the usual tasks like browsing the web, watching videos online, and checking social media, but it's far from the best when it comes to multitasking and gaming.

The Moto E4 Plus isn't a big upgrade over the Moto E4. It comes with a larger 5.5-inch HD display and is powered by the Snapdragon 427 chipset found in one version of its smaller brother. It also has a higher resolution camera at 13 MP and packs a massive 5,000 mAh battery that should last you up to two days on a single charge. The device sports 2 GB of RAM as well as a front-mounted fingerprint scanner, same as the Moto E4. It launched back in June 2017 for $180 but can now be yours for $160.
Moto C Plus
The highlight of the device is its large battery. It has a capacity of 4,000 mAh, which is a lot considering the Moto C Plus comes with a 5-inch HD display. The smartphone is powered by MediaTek's MT6737 chipset, has 1 or 2 GB of RAM, and an 8 MP primary camera. There's no fingerprint scanner on board, which might be a deal breaker for some. It's aimed at consumers looking for a basic device on the cheap that can handle everyday tasks like browsing the web and checking emails. The C Plus wasn't released in the U.S., but you can still get the international version on Amazon.
Moto C
The Moto C is cheaper than the Plus model, which means it offers less when it comes to hardware.
