Alleged Samsung Galaxy S9 snapped in the wild

  • Two leaked images of an alleged Samsung Galaxy S9 appeared on Twitter.
  • The images appear to be a legit, working version of an actual S9, but there are no guarantees.
  • Samsung will officially reveal the phone in a few days at MWC 2018, so we don't have to wait long to see if these are real!

We're only a few days away from the official launch of the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus at Mobile World Congress 2018. As the hours tick by, you can expect to see lots of leaks of the actual phone in use, now that functional units are making their way to Barcelona.

Like these leaked photos here of an alleged Samsung Galaxy S9 booting up in someone's hand:

Unlike previous leaks of the S9, these pics appear to be an actual working version of the phone. The sticker on the back points to it maybe being some sort of prototype or engineering version, but it appears to be the real deal nonetheless.

If you're scratching your head wondering why it looks so much like the Samsung Galaxy S8, that's because, well, it does. Other than the slimmer bezel on the front and the horizontal-design fingerprint scanner under the camera, this could be mistaken for an S8 if you glanced at it quickly.

Editor's Pick

Of course, the real difference between an S8 and an S9 will be the insides, most notably the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845. We can safely assume that the S9 will be the very first phone to hit the market with the latest-and-greatest smartphone chipset that promises faster speeds and better battery life.

You can read more about the alleged specs of the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus here, and you can look forward to reading about the confirmed specs and images when Samsung officially launches the phone in a few days.
