Each month, popular streaming service Hulu adds a variable number of movies and TV shows to its already-large catalog of content. The first of the month is also a somber occasion, as Hulu also removes a certain amount of content at the end of the month.
So what's all new on Hulu for the month of February? Let's take a look! First we'll highlight a few of the most important additions and then we'll talk about what else this month has in store for Hulu subscribers.
New on Hulu
The Big Lebowski (1998)
The Library of Congress picked The Big Lebowski for preservation in the National Film Registry in 2014. That should reveal all you need to know about the movie's cultural significance. Initially released to mixed reviews, The Big Lebowski eventually garnered cult status as more people resonated with the wisdom of The Dude. There's even a religion — Dudeism — that spawned from the main character's lifestyle. Seriously.
GoldenEye (1995)
GoldenEye featured plenty of firsts — the first James Bond film to star Pierce Brosnan as James Bond, the first James Bond film released after the U.S.S.R.'s dissolution, Judi Dench being the first woman to portray M, and the first James Bond film to not use any of Ian Fleming's story elements. Even with so many firsts, GoldenEye garnered immense critical and box office success. The movie even spawned the famous Nintendo 64 game that proved how viable first-person shooters are on consoles.
Capote (2005)
Capote tells the real-life events of American novelist and writer Truman Capote while he was writing the non-fiction book In Cold Blood. The book talks about the 1959 murders of four members of the Herbert Clutter family in Kansas. Capote traveled to Kansas and wrote about the crime before the killers were captured. The movie Capote re-tells the real-world events in the book, along with Capote's time in Kansas. Starring Philip Seymour Hoffman as Capote, the movie does a wonderful job of re-telling the most significant period in Capote's life.
