Amazon's tablets are affordable for just about everyone, but the low prices are constant reminders of their status as portals to the retail giant's swath of services. This is a status that the Primetime Android tablet shares, except it acts as a venue for AT&T's services instead.
Aimed at entertainment, the Primetime's main feature is its TV Mode, which gets you to video apps like the pre-installed DirecTV and DirecTV Now with one touch or swipe. It's a weird selling point to make, considering the same thing can be achieved by just placing apps on the home screen, but the Primetime is an AT&T-branded tablet, so there you go.

AT&T also allows its Unlimited Plus and Unlimited Choice customers the option to add the Primetime to their unlimited wireless plan for an extra $20 per month. Alternatively, you can pick up the tablet for either $10 a month for 20 months or $30 with a two-year contract.
Otherwise, the Primetime is a decent Android tablet, with the 10.1-inch, 1,920 x 1,200 resolution display flanked by front-facing speakers. Under the hood, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 625 and 2 GB of RAM power the Primetime, with the 32GB of storage expandable by up to 128GB through the microSD card slot. The tablet promises to deliver up to 11 hours of use, thanks in part to the 9,070 mAh battery.
Finally, the Primetime runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box.
Even though AT&T announced the Primetime today, it will not be available for purchase until Friday. As such, the tablet's landing page is not live at the moment, though that will change in a few days.
