Among the slew of products that Samsung announced during MWC 2019 was the Galaxy S10 5G, one of the company's first two 5G-capable smartphones. Samsung didn't specifically say when the Galaxy S10 5G would launch, but Engadget reported that the phone will first launch in South Korea in April.
The firm date for the Galaxy S10 5G's launch in South Korea is reportedly up to the country's three carriers — SK Telecom, KT, and LG Uplus. According to those familiar with the company's plans, Samsung reportedly targeted a late March launch in South Korea before those plans fell through.
Those in other regions, namely the U.S., will have to wait a bit longer. The Galaxy S10 5G will debut on Verizon in the first half of 2019. AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Spectrum Mobile, and Xfinity Mobile will then carry the phone from "this summer." Samsung didn't say whether the Galaxy S10 5G would be available for the rest of the world.
Even if you get your hands on the Galaxy S10 5G, odds are you'll live in a city that doesn't have 5G yet. Even in the U.S., ubiquitous coverage is still several years away. It would be smart to check out your carrier's 5G coverage before you drop well over $1,000 on the phone.
If you do, you'd be getting quite the flagship. To quickly recap, the Galaxy S10 5G features a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with 3,040 x 1,440 resolution, three rear cameras and a 3D depth sensor, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and a 4,500mAh battery.
