- Lenovo has shown off a new handset, the Lenovo Z5 Pro.
- Lenovo's latest device seems to sport a bezel-less display, and might have a slider mechanism.
- Earlier in 2018, the company teased a notchless display for the Z5, which eventually arrived with a notch.
The Lenovo Z5 was a rather controversial release for the company earlier this year. The company teased that it would arrive without a notch, only for the final product to indeed pack a display cutout.
Now, the company's Liu Jun and Chang Cheng have teased the Lenovo Z5 Pro on Weibo (h/t: GSMArena), showing a phone with slim bezels and no perceptible notch.
Lenovo's reveal also comes a few weeks after Cheng shared a video on Weibo, showing off a phone with a slider mechanism. When the slider pops open and you'll find what seems to be an earpiece, flash and selfie camera, reducing the reliance on a notch. A close look at the video also reveals what could be an in-display fingerprint sensor. Check it out below.
The phone in the video seems similar to the device in the latest shots, suggesting they're the same model. The phone in the new images appears to have a slightly thicker chin though, so it's still possible that we're looking at separate devices. Then again, it could be an unflattering camera angle in the new images or Lenovo trimming the chin in the video for aesthetic reasons — it wouldn't be the first time the company has misled users.
The latest Weibo tease suggests the company will show off the device on China's National Day (October 1). So you'll only need to wait until Monday to find out more about the Lenovo Z5 Pro.
