Samsung announces Galaxy A50s, Galaxy A30s: More like A50 Pro and A50 Lite?

The Samsung Galaxy A50 and A30 are just two of the many models in Samsung's 2019 budget lineup. Between the large batteries and slick OLED screens, it's tough to argue that the Korean firm isn't delivering solid A-series devices this year.

Now, Samsung is back with the Galaxy A50s and Galaxy A30s, and while they're mostly the same as their predecessors, they also offer a couple of big upgrades.

Starting with the Galaxy A50s, Samsung has upgraded the A50's 25MP primary camera to a 48MP shooter (presumably the Samsung GM-1 or GM-2). The rest of the triple rear camera setup is unchanged though, so that means an 8MP ultra-wide snapper (123 degree field of view) and a 5MP depth sensor.

Otherwise, you can expect the same core specs on the Galaxy A50. The phone ships with an unnamed octa-core Exynos chipset (SamMobile says it's the Exynos 9610), 4GB to 6GB of RAM, and 64GB to 128GB of expandable storage. Other details include a 4,000mAh battery with 15 watt charging, a 32MP selfie camera in a waterdrop notch, and a 6.4-inch OLED screen (FHD+) with an in-display fingerprint sensor.

What about Galaxy A30s?

Meanwhile, the Galaxy A30 originally shipped with a dual rear camera setup (16MP and 5MP ultra-wide), but it's now received the Galaxy A50's rear cameras. In other words, you're getting a 25MP primary shooter, 8MP ultra-wide camera, and 5MP depth sensor. The Galaxy A30s also ships with an in-display fingerprint sensor, as opposed to the previous model's rear scanner.

The A30s also serves up an unnamed octa-core chipset (said to be the Exynos 7904), 3GB to 4GB of RAM, 32GB to 128GB of expandable storage. Other noteworthy tidbits include a 4,000mAh battery with 15 watt charging, a 16MP selfie camera in a waterdrop notch, and a 6.4-inch HD+ OLED screen.

Samsung hasn't confirmed price or regional availability, but they'll be available in Prism Crush Black, Prism Crush White, Prism Crush Green, and Prism Crush Violet.
