In addition to the Nova 5 series, Huawei today also announced (via NDTV) the MediaPad M6 series. Coming in 8.4- and 10.8-inch sizes, the devices are the latest entries in Huawei's line of Android tablets.

Apart from the display size, the 8.4- and 10.8-inch MediaPad M6 differ in battery size — 6,100mAh for the 8.4-inch variant, and 7,500mAh for the 10.8-inch variant. There's also a weight difference, but that's to be expected of tablets with different sizes.

Even with the display size difference, the resolution remains the same at 2,560 x 1,600. Other similarities include a 13MP rear camera, 8MP selfie camera, Harman Kardon-branded quad speakers, Huawei's in-house HiSilicon Kirin 980 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB or 128GB of expandable storage, and EMUI 9.1 on top of Android 9 Pie.

The MediaMad M6 tablets also feature USB-C and a headphone jack. Finally, there are pogo pins to support the updated keyboard case.

Huawei's announcement comes at a time when the company's future remains uncertain due to it being on the U.S. Entity List. The announcement also arrives one day after Google's move away from the tablet market. Google still plans to support hardware partners with tablets.

The 8.4- and 10.8-inch MediaPad M6 tablets were announced for China, with no mention of international availability.

Pre-orders for the 10.8-inch variant start today, with prices ranging from 2,299 yuan (~$335) for the 64GB Wi-Fi-only model to 3,499 yuan (~$508) for the 128GB cellular version. Pre-orders for the 8.4-inch variant open July 10, with prices ranging from 1,999 yuan (~$291) for the 64GB Wi-Fi-only model to 2,699 yuan (~$393) for the 128GB cellular version.

General availability for the 8.4- and 10.8-inch variants are set for July 20 and July 10, respectively.
