Libratone announced that its two newest speakers will include integrated Amazon Alexa support. As it seems, the Zipp 2 and Zipp Mini 2 can connect to 10 speakers simultaneously via AirPlay 2 or SoundSpace Link if you want your music to cover more ground.
Libratone Zipp 2 and Zipp Mini 2 commonalities
- Amazon Alexa integration
- AirPlay 2 or SoundSpace Link support
- Hi-res 96kHz/24bit audio
- Bluetooth aptX
- Improved 360-degree FullRoom sound
- 12-hour battery life
If you don't want to connect to Wi-Fi, though doing so provides optimal steaming quality, you can listen via Bluetooth as both speakers support aptX. Heck, you can even throw it back to the good ol' days and take advantage of the 3.5mm auxiliary input.
Aside from Alexa, both speakers boast Libratone's 360 FullRoom sound, which promotes evenly distributed music playback regardless of speaker positioning. Taking the speakers off the shelf and out for an adventure is easy due to their portable designs.
Furthermore, both speakers allow listeners to take calls via the noise-isolating microphones. And both have an intuitive touch interface. You can designate five programmable internet radio stations or playlists, toggle the voice assistant mic, and make Room EQ adjustments.
Libratone Zipp 2 and Zipp Mini 2 differences
The larger Zipp 2 takes Automatic room EQ a step further by accounting for changes in the environment, which "trigger further readjustments appropriate to settings."
Instead of the three-inch neodymium woofer found in the Zipp Mini 2, the Zipp 2 houses a four-inch neodymium woofer, and each speaker includes a soft dome neodymium tweeter and low frequency radiator.
The Libratone Zipp 2 and Zipp Mini 2 will be available in October for 299 euros and 249 euros, respectively.
