Samsung is hoping to sway iPhone X buyers in South Korea by loaning them a Galaxy S8 or Note 8

If you're reading this, chances are you've a least been a member of 'camp Android' at some point. Perhaps you've been a committed, unwavering Android user for years, or maybe you've (and it's okay to admit it) flitted between devices running Google's OS and those made by a certain company residing in Cupertino.

Whatever your own personal mobile history happens to be, it's easy to sympathize with anyone considering switching allegiance from iPhone to Android, or vice versa. After all, it's much easier to stick with a familiar product experience than take a risk on something entirely new, especially when said devices are worth several hundred dollars.

Enter Samsung, which today unveiled the "Galaxy Experience Program" – a scheme essentially designed to let Apple addicts loan a Galaxy S8 or Note 8 for a month with the intention of showing them that the grass is indeed greener on the other side.

The caveat to this fantastic proposition – which has also been cheekily dubbed "Upgrade to Galaxy" – is that it's exclusive to South Korea for the time being, but if it proves successful in Samsung's home country then we may see similar schemes pop up across the pond in the future.

The way the program works is incredibly simple. First, you submit an application online via an online form between now and November 27th.

Samsung will then pick out 10,000 lucky applicants by November 30th who will then able to collect their device from a Samsung Digital Plaza store between December 1st-11th. On a completely unrelated note, Apple's ultra-premium flagship, the iPhone X, launches in South Korea on December 3rd. Interesting timing, Samsung.

Those participating in the trial do have to pay a small fee (the equivalent of around $45), but this is refunded for customers who choose to buy the device at the end of the program. As an added bonus, Samsung will also offer discounts on Bluetooth speakers and official accessories to those who switch to a Galaxy device.
