In recent years we've seen a number of carriers move away from unlimited data, with even T-Mobile starting to distance itself from advertising its unlimited data option in favor of its Binge On program. Going against the grain, AT&T-owned Cricket Wireless is introducing a new unlimited plan on April 17th that will give users as much talk, text, and data as they want for $70 a month.
In Cricket's typical fashion, that $70 is the full price, with no other hidden fees or charges. There's also the same $5 credit for auto-pay, or ways to make it even cheaper if you have multiple lines with credit.

The catch? While you do get as much unthrottled data as you want, the speeds are capped at 8Mbps for LTE and 4Mbps for HSPA+. Is that a big deal? Depends on your usage habits. If you tend to stick to Wi-Fi for big downloads, probably not. But for those that hope to use their phone as their sole portal to the web, this could be a deal breaker.
For those T-Mobile customers that decide to take up the plan in favor of their current uncarrier plan, Cricket is giving an $100 bill credit for making the switch. So how about it, anyone interested?
