We've taken the time to curate some of the best family movies on Amazon Prime so you and the Brady bunch don't have to sift through the entire exhaustive library. Keep in mind most of these movies are more for older kids and teens, as opposed to little ones.

1. Wonder
Wonder is a 2017 family drama starring Julia Roberts, Owen Wilson, and child actor Jacob Tremblay. The movie follows the story of a 10-year-old boy (Tremblay) suffering from Treacher Collins syndrome, a genetic disorder that causes deformities of the face. The movie is an emotional journey of how the family copes with the social stigma surrounding the disorder, all the while trying to create a normal childhood for the young boy. Wonder received very positive reviews from critics, especially for the heartfelt performance by Roberts and Tremblay.
2. Troop Zero
Troop Zero is an Amazon original family film that is perfect for a fun movie date with the young'uns. It follows the story of a group of misfit elementary school children trying to win a talent show so that their voices can be recorded and sent to space. The movie is a light-hearted comedy, full of zest and spunk. It stars Mckenna Grace of Gifted fame in the lead role of Christian Flint as well as veteran actor Viola Davis (How To Get Away With Murder) as the troop leader.
3. Lady Bird
Lady Bird is a coming-of-age story about a teenage girl (Saoirse Ronan) from Sacramento, California, in search of freedom from her family and a life of obscurity. She names herself Lady Bird and constantly struggles for her mother's approval. Her goal is to get admission to an East Coast college where she can expand her horizons, but her family's poor financial condition makes her dreams seem distant. The narrative beautifully describes a mother-daughter relationship and ends on a surprisingly sweet note.
4. A Quiet Place
This is a family movie that should be reserved for when you and your bunch are in the mood for some jump scares and screams and is certainly not the best for younger kids. A Quiet Place is a post-apocalyptic horror movie starring John Krasinski and Emily Blunt, who also happen to be spouses in real life. The film follows the trials of a family of five who have to scavenge for supplies in a ghost town inhabited by deadly extraterrestrial creatures. Most of the human and animal population on Earth has been wiped out by these creatures. However, the monsters are blind and can only get you if you make a sound.
5. Daddy's Home 2
If the Christmas spirit has hit you early, or if you're just missing your parents, Daddy's Home 2 could be a fun movie to catch. The film is a sequel to the 2015 movie Daddy's Home and stars big Hollywood names like Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, John Cena, John Lithgow and Mel Gibson. The plot follows Ferrel and Wahlberg as two grown men who have finally learned the art of co-parenting. All hell breaks loose when their own fathers — Gibson and Lithgow — unexpectedly arrive on Christmas and start meddling in their lives.
6. Hugo
If you're looking to go on a visual adventure with your family, the 2011 Martin Scorsese movie Hugo is something you'll really enjoy. The film tells the story of an orphan boy named Hugo who lives inside the walls of Paris' Gare Montparnasse railway station. He helps his uncle maintain the clocks at the station, but his real quest is to find parts for and repair a broken automaton man in hopes of finding a hidden message from his dead father. Hugo was a highly acclaimed film for its time and was nominated for 11 Academy Awards, winning five of them.
7. Hereditary
Another horror-flick to get the whole family on the edge is Hereditary. Fair warning, the film is rated R for horror and violence, so this one is not for the small kiddos out there.
A family of four is haunted by the ghost of an ancestor. The evil entrenches itself into their life, turning it upside down and causing one of them to die in a horrific accident. Will they survive the wrath of the demon or will they succumb to its powers? The movie stars Toni Collette in the lead role and will grip you into its fold right from the beginning.
8. The Aeronauts
Inspired by true events, The Aeronauts is a movie that narrates the adventures of a meteorologist and a professional aeronaut who are out to prove that the weather can be predicted. It's based on a historic hot-air balloon expedition from circa 1862 in which scientist James Glashier and aeronaut Henry Coxwell rose to a height of 30,000 feet, the highest any human had ever been in a gas balloon. Only in the film, Coxwell is replaced by the fictional character of Amelia Wren played by Felicity Jones. While the movie does take some creative liberties with the actual facts, it's still a stunning visual journey and an engaging watch, one that's best enjoyed on a large screen.
9. Valerian and The City Of A Thousand Planets
If an intergalactic space adventure is what you and your family enjoy, then this is the right movie to set the mood. Valerian and The City Of A Thousand Planets is a visual treat and tells the story of special space operatives Valerian and Laureline, who are tasked with the job of saving planet Alpha – home to thousands of different species from the galaxy and beyond. Soon, they discover that the planet is not the only thing at risk, the entire universe is!
10. Sherlock Homes
Who doesn't love a good-ol Sherlock Holmes mystery? You and your family could enjoy this one starring Robert Downey Jr as the man with the pipe himself. Jude Law plays Dr Watson, the proverbial sidekick. Together, they embark on an adventure to foil the devious plans of Professor Moriarty. Will they survive the trap they're headed into?
11. Instant Family
They were out to foster one child, but got three in the bargain. Instant Family stars Mark Wahlberg and Rose Byrne as a childless couple looking to start a family. Their idea of doing so is to foster a teenager and her two siblings. The film follows the journey of this unlikely family and will warm your heart as they grow closer to form unbreakable bonds with each other.
