After months of rumors, the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite and the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite have both been officially announced. Both phones have been designed to offer features found in the Galaxy S10 and Note 10 family of phones at a lower price.
For the Galaxy S10 Lite, Samsung is focusing on its camera hardware. It will have three rear sensors: a main wide-angle 48MP camera, a second 127-degree ultra-wide 12MP sensor, and a 5MP macro camera. The cameras will also use Samsung's new Super Steady OIS. Combined with the camera's Super Steady mode, the S10 Lite will supposedly take better action images and video clips. The phone will also have a 32MP front-facing camera.
The Galaxy S10 Lite will be released in Prism White, Prism Black, and Prism Blue colors.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite will, like the other members of the Note series, have an embedded S Pen. It will allow owners to take handwritten notes, take a photo, control video content, and much more. It will also have three rear 12MP cameras (wide-angle, ultra wide-angle, and telephoto) and a 32MP front camera. The phone will be released in Aura Glow, Aura Black, and Aura Red colors.
Both the Galaxy S10 Lite and the Note 10 Lite will share many hardware specs. Both will have a 6.7-inch Infinity-O display with a resolution of 2400 × 1080. The S10 Lite will use a Super AMOLED Plus screen, while the Note 10 Lite will have a standard Super AMOLED display. The S10 Lite will use a 7nm 64-bit Octa-core processor, with clock speeds of 2.8GHz, 2.4GHz, and 1.7GHz. The Note 10 Lite 10 will have a 10mm processor, with clock speeds of 2.7GHz and 1.7GHz. Both will have 128GB of onboard storage and 6GB or 8GB of RAM. Both will have the same 4,500mAh battery and both will ship with Android 10 out of the box.
Pricing and release dates for the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite and the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite have yet to be revealed. The phones will be shown off by the company next week at CES 2020 in Las Vegas.
