Star Trek: Picard was already one of the most anticipated new TV shows of 2020. That's due mostly to the return of Sir Patrick Stewart, who is reprising his beloved Star Trek: The Next Generation role of Captain Jean-Luc Picard. Last week, the first episode of the 10-episode first season made its debut on the CBS All Access streaming service. Now, the service is offering two ways to watch the first episode of Star Trek: Picard for free.
The CBS All Access YouTube channel has posted the first full episode of Star Trek: Picard for free to watch for an unspecified "limited time." Also, if you access the free Pluto TV service, you can watch the same episode on its Sci-Fi channel from now until midnight tonight Pacific (3 a.m. Eastern on January 31).

What is Star Trek: Picard?
In case you haven't heard about the series, Star Trek: Picard is the seventh live-action Star Trek TV series. Sir Patrick Stewart plays Jean-Luc Picard once again, but this time the show takes place in the year 2399. That's on the cusp of the 25th century. More importantly, it's nearly 20 years after Stewart played Picard in the movie Star Trek: Nemesis.
The first episode, Remembrance, shows Picard seemingly enjoying his retirement from Starfleet, tending to his family's vineyard in France. However, appearances are deceiving. We quickly learn that Picard fought and lost an internal battle with Starfleet 10 years prior to the series. More importantly, we encounter a mysterious girl who comes to Picard for help. The first season will show Picard trying to solve the mystery of this girl, along with his own inner demons.
Along the way, we will see other Star Trek: The Next Generation actors reprise their roles. That will include Jonathan Frakes as Will Riker, Marina Sirtis as Deanna Troi, and even Brent Spiner as Data. We will even see Star Trek: Voyager star Jeri Ryan return as Seven of Nine.
