Xiaomi launched its first smartwatch last year in the Mi Watch, a rather blatant Apple Watch clone running WearOS and MIUI. The company's Redmi sub-brand isn't one to be left out though, as it's apparently working on a smartwatch too.
FoneArena spotted a listing for a Redmi smartwatch on the Bureau for Indian Standards (BIS) website. The listing confirms a model number HMSH01GE, but we don't have any other details to go on. Still, the fact that the device was listed online suggests that an Indian launch date can't be far away now.
There's no word if the Redmi Watch is the Mi Watch with a new name or if it's a new model. But if the first watch is any indication, then we can likely expect Xiaomi's MIUI skin atop WearOS.
The Mi Watch also offered a rotating crown, 1.78-inch AMOLED screen, heart-rate monitoring, 4G connectivity, Wi-Fi, NFC, and Bluetooth. Other specs include the Snapdragon Wear 3100 processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, and a 570mAh battery.
Hopefully the Redmi Watch manages to incorporate most of this spec sheet while changing up the Apple Watch/Mi Watch design. What would you like to see from a Redmi-branded smartwatch? Give us your thoughts below!
