Update, November 28, 2019 (12:30AM ET): Motorola is apparently teasing a December 3 launch for a device with a pop-up camera and notch-free display. Going by the teaser and recent rumors, all signs point to the Motorola One Hyper. The launch event will be held in Brazil and there's no information on a wider launch for the device just yet.
The upcoming Moto smartphone has been leaked numerous times and we even saw some apparent real-world images of it last month. You can read about all the leaked specs and images in the original article below.
Original article, September 5 2019 (1:40PM ET): It's been quite a while since we've seen a relatively high-end smartphone from Lenovo subsidiary Motorola, but it looks like one could be in the works. Via XDA Developers, we now have some real-life images of what appears to be a Motorola smartphone with a pop-up selfie camera and a notch-less display.
The images have been heavily edited to remove any information that could lead to identifying who supplied the photos to XDA, so they look a bit wonky. However, it's very easy to see the pop-up selfie camera, the distinctive Motorola circle widget on the home screen, and the notch-free, nearly-all-screen display.
Check the photos for yourself below:
Like we said, the pics are a little strange, but you can get the gist of what's going on by looking at them.
Interestingly, reliable smartphone leaker Evan Blass tweeted out some images of a notch-less Motorola smartphone a few weeks ago. Those images don't show a pop-up selfie camera, but it's very possible these devices are one-and-the-same, just without showing the selfie camera.

Motorola One Hyper real-world images
Leaks about the upcoming Motorola phone picked up steam in October. XDA-Developers disclosed that the new phone could be called the Motorola One Hyper. We also got what appear to be real-world pictures of the device via ProAndroid. Check them out below:
ProAndroid says the new phone packs a Snapdragon 675 processor, 4GB of RAM, 128GB of expandable storage, and a 6.39-inch IPS screen (FHD+). But the phone is also apparently packing a 64MP main camera, which means Motorola will be joining Xiaomi, Realme, and Samsung in offering the high-resolution sensor. The device is also said to have an 8MP depth sensor on the rear and a 32MP camera located on the pop-up.
The leaked specs point to a mid-ranger from Moto, instead of a flagship we were hoping for. However, it'll be interesting to see what Moto has to bring to the table in terms of smartphone photography.
