Update: July 30, 2019 at 12 p.m. ET: It appears Verizon's service is back up and running, at least for some people. We've been able to connect again to Verizon's network in Rockford, Illinois, and many users on Downdetector appear to be getting service back, too. We'll update this article if we learn anything else regarding the Verizon outage.
If you're a Verizon customer and happen to be experiencing internet issues, you're not alone. According to Downdetector, Verizon is not working in many parts of the U.S., mainly in areas of the midwest. Almost all of northern Illinois appears to be experiencing a Verizon outage, as well as central Kansas. It appears Verizon service is also down in parts of New York, Washington, Dallas, Houston, and more.
Here in Rockford, Illinois, we've been unable to connect to Verizon's network. The service disruption appears to be affecting internet access and phone service.

We will update this story as we learn more. For now, hold tight while Verizon works on bringing its network back online.
