- "OnePlus Bullets Wireless" listed on official Bluetooth certification site.
- OnePlus has yet to release a wireless version of its Bullets earphones.
- New audio product could potentially launch alongside the OnePlus 6.
With all the focus on the OnePlus 6 notch drama, it's been easy to forget that OnePlus has chosen to avoid another controversial industry trend by allegedly sticking with the 3.5mm headphone jack for its latest flagship.
Yet, while you'll seemingly be able to use any old pair of headphones with the OnePlus 6, that apparently hasn't stopped OnePlus eying up a wireless future.
An official Bluetooth certification document has surfaced today for a product from the Chinese OEM called OnePlus Bullets Wireless.
OnePlus has previously released wired earphones carrying the "Bullets" branding—most recently the excellent Bullets V2 (pictured above)—but this would be the first time we've seen a set from the company.
The certification was first spotted by the folks over at Nashville Chatter, and you can see the full document here. There isn't a whole lot to go on at this stage, but we do know from the listing that Qualcomm is involved—likely in a hardware capacity—and that the product carries the model number BT31B.
With the OnePlus 6's launch seemingly coming much earlier this year than what we're used to from the firm's usual schedule, there's a chance we could see the third-generation earphones arrive alongside the OnePlus 5T successor in the near future.
The OnePlus Bullets V2 were widely praised for delivering impressive audio quality at a ridiculously low price. It's inevitable that a wireless model would exceed the V2's $19.99 price-tag (if only just because it has to come with a charging accessory of some kind), but considering OnePlus' reputation for offering top-tier devices on a budget, there's a good chance any final product will still be relatively affordable.
