HTC's last few flagships have been solid devices, but the company will need to drastically step things up with the upcoming HTC U12 if it hopes to return to black.
Now, we've received another look at the device, courtesy of a Taiwanese accessory manufacturer (via Phone Arena). And the images show a phone that lines up with previous rumors, down to two selfie cameras.
The two front-facing snappers have a few potential uses. We've seen LG previously employ a normal and wide-angle camera on the front, while other brands are using dual front cameras to create depth-of-field and portrait mode features.
Looking at the back, we see a similar shiny finish to previous HTC models, as well as dual cameras and a rear fingerprint scanner.
As per a previous leak from Evan Blass on Venture Beat, the HTC U12 is tipped to pack a Snapdragon 845 chipset, 6GB of RAM, a 3,420mAh battery and 64GB/128GB storage.
The phone is also expected to tout a 6-inch 18:9 LCD screen, along with Edge Sense tech for squeezing the device. In the camera department, the selfie cameras are reportedly 8MP each, while the rear setup consists of a 16MP+12MP pairing.
The Venture Beat leak also claimed that the phone will be called the HTC U12 Plus. Where's the vanilla U12? Well, Blass says it "may never exist".
