Verizon has teamed up with Google to offer the ultimate package incentive to get you to switch to Big Red and give your home entertainment center a huge boost. Hopefully you are sitting down, because there's a lot to this deal that might get confusing, but it's actually pretty incredible.
The first part of the deal is getting 50 percent off the Google Pixel 2 or Pixel 2 XL. You can only trade in specific devices to get the discount, and those devices must be "in good working and cosmetic condition" to be accepted. The eligible trade-in devices are:
For Google Pixel 2 50% discount: Apple iPhone 8, 8 Plus, 7, 7 Plus, 6S Plus, Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8 Plus, Galaxy Note 8, Google Pixel, Pixel XL, LG G6, LG V30, Moto Z2 Force, Moto Z Force
For Google Pixel 2 XL 50% discount: Apple iPhone X, iPhone 8, 8 Plus, 7, 7 Plus, Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8 Plus, Galaxy Note 8, Google Pixel 2, LG V30, Moto Z2 Force
Once you trade-in your eligible device, you'll get bill credits for the next 24 months that will add up to the full 50 percent discount.
Now, let's talk about the entertainment bundle. To be clear, you can get this entertainment bundle without trading in an older phone for the 50 percent discount. If you just want the Pixel 2 or Pixel 2 XL at full price, you can still get the bundle.
Included in the bundle is:
- A Google Home Mini
- A Google Chromecast
- Two free months of YouTube TV
The Google Home Mini and Chromecast are both taken care of by Verizon. The company will ship both items to the billing address of the account holder within three to four weeks of activation of the new Pixel 2 or Pixel 2 XL. The YouTube TV membership is optional, but if you want to take advantage of the two free months, you have to sign up at a link Verizon will offer before the end of June. After the two-month trial is over, you'll be on the hook for the YouTube TV monthly fee, which is currently $40.
OK, that's about it! This deal only applies to folks who are new subscribers to both Verizon and YouTube TV. However, if you are a current Verizon subscriber, you can use the 50 percent off trade-in to upgrade your device as well, if you are eligible for an upgrade. You can't get the bundle, though.
