The promo features text which roughly translates as "born to compete," though it gives us only a partial look at the upcoming smartphone — it's in shadow alongside a fencing mask.
The imagery conjures feelings of precision and speed, but it doesn't give much away about the device itself. What we can see is a rounded corner and what is presumably a power button featuring metallic green highlight (similar to the likes of Razer and Nvidia's main color). It more than likely features a metal frame.
The handset is set for launch on April 13, and if you're keen to learn more about it, head to our previous coverage below.
Previous coverage (04/03): Xiaomi's upcoming gaming smartphone will launch on April 13. The device, which Xiaomi is said to have developed with games product company Black Shark Technology, would compete with Razer's self-titled smartphone from last November.
The news arrives from GizmoChina (via TechRadar), which got its hands on an official invite (seen below) confirming the phone's launch date. Technical details regarding the device are still scarce, however.
It's speculated that the Black Shark phone would launch with a Snapdragon 845 chipset and a 120Hz display, while GizmoChina suggests it could show up in three versions: 6GB RAM + 128GB storage, 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage.
It's also possible that the phone will be launched either with or alongside a compatible controller, as indicated by a separate leak from Weibo.
The Xiaomi Black Shark phone price, release date and availability details are unconfirmed but you can expect it to be in line with other Xiaomi flagships with regards to cost and markets. Due to its "enthusiast" nature, it might be even harder to get hold of than regular Xiaomi phones (the company may not produce huge quantities of them).
We'll have more information soon. In the meantime, if you want to see what else Xiaomi has been up to in the gaming sphere recently, check out the Xiaomi Mi Gaming laptop announced last week.
