LG launches LG Q6 Plus in India: a Q6 with more RAM and ROM

LG has launched the LG Q6 Plus at an event in New Delhi, India. The device follows shortly after the release of the LG Q6 in August, arriving with a couple of small changes to make it a more "premium" variant.

The Q6 Plus is almost identical to the model from last month, featuring the same design, display, processor, battery, and cameras, but sets itself apart with an increase in RAM and internal storage space. Instead of the 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB ROM of the original LG Q6, the Q6 Plus arrives with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage space.

That extra RAM and storage come at an increased cost, however: the Q6 Plus arrives at Rs. 17,990 (~$280) compared to Rs. 14,990 (~$233) price tag of the original device.

We weren't bowled over by the Q6 Plus' predecessor in our full LG Q6 review, and had several complaints. While we loved the display, the lack of a fingerprint scanner and USB Type-C connectivity, as well as poor camera performance, let it down in the end. Sadly, none of these areas are improved in the Plus model (though they weren't exactly expected to be), and because it houses some of the same color variants as the regular device, it will probably have a similarly easily scratched rear too.

For that reason, and despite only costing a little more, the LG Q6 Plus might not be worth the extra money. That is, unless you really need the extra storage space.
