ZTE is launching a new budget-priced phone in the US today. The ZTE Prestige 2, a followup to the original Prestige that was first released in 2015, is now available from the no-contract carriers Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile USA for $79.99.
As you might expect, the hardware specs for the ZTE Prestige 2 are not exactly on the high-end. It has a 5-inch display that sports a 480 x 854 resolution. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, and inside there's a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor running at 1.1 GHz, along with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of on-board storage, with a microSD card that supports adding up to 32 GB of additional storage.
Both the front and back camera on the ZTE Prestige 2 are 5 MP sensors, and there's also a 2,035 mAh removable battery that is supposed to offer up to 14 hours of battery life. Again, while this phone cannot come close to the specs on the Galaxy S8, this might be a good choice for people who want to get an emergency phone, or a secondary device to give to a family member or friend.
In addition to Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile USA, you can purchase the ZTE Prestige 2 at BestBuy.com and at select Best Buy retail stores.
