Original article, April 14, 2020: The OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro are finally here and it's clear that the company is graduating from its "flagship killer" status to a full-fledged "premium" smartphone maker.
The top-of-the-line OnePlus 8 Pro is a dollar short of reaching the four-digit price mark, while the OnePlus 8 has a more digestible price tag, costing close to last year's OnePlus 7 Pro.

OnePlus' premium prices for the new series were more or less expected. The company has been on a trajectory of increasing the cost of its phones ever since the beginning.
Nevertheless, OnePlus has made it very clear that it wants to compete with the Samsungs and Apples of the world. The OnePlus 8 Pro is proof of that, with its fast wireless charging, IP68 rating, 120Hz display, and powerful quad camera setup.
Meanwhile, the OnePlus 8 misses out on living up to the company's "Never Settle" mantra, at least on paper. It doesn't have any of the aforementioned features, which is definitely a let down for fans who've been expecting them.
With that in mind, let's take a look at all the pricing and availability details for the two OnePlus 8 phones. Keep in mind that these differ on the basis of countries and carriers, so make sure to check the section that's most relevant to your region and operator of choice.

Verizon
Verizon will only sell the vanilla OnePlus 8 with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. Verizon's version supports the carrier's mmWave network and is officially called the OnePlus 8 5G UW. Verizon's version, unlike the model sold unlocked from OnePlus, will feature IP68 certification for water and dust resistance. The OnePlus 8 Pro will not be available through Verizon, at least for now.
You can buy the OnePlus 8 through Verizon's website and the My Verizon app in Onyx Black and Verizon-exclusive Polar Silver colorways.
You can either opt for a 24-month payment plan for which you'll need to shell out $33.33 per month, or you can purchase the phone upfront by paying $799.
Verizon also has a bunch of trade-in offers for new and existing customers buying the OnePlus 8. Those switching from another carrier to a Verizon Unlimited plan can get up to $700 off on the OnePlus 8 by trading in their old phone. Switchers also get a free Stream TV, a free Amazon Echo Dot, and a smart plug from the carrier.
Existing customers are eligible for a discount of up to $550 on the new phone through various trade-in offers.
In addition, Verizon will also sell OnePlus 8 cases from OtterBox, Speck, OnePlus, and InvisibleShield.
T-Mobile
At T-Mobile, customers can buy the vanilla OnePlus 8 in either Interstellar Glow or Onyx Black. This is the variant with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, with no option to upgrade to a higher-spec model. As with Verizon, T-Mobile will not sell the OnePlus 8 Pro.
T-Mobile will sell the OnePlus 8 for $699 upfront. Conversely, you can pay $29.17 each month for 24 months with no money down, assuming you are a well-qualified customer using T-Mobile's no-interest Equipment Installment Plan.
To entice you to buy, T-Mobile is offering a good deal for both new and existing customers. You can get up to $350 off a new OnePlus 8 if you either trade-in a qualified device or add a new line to your account. This means if you are not a T-Mobile customer but willing to switch, you can get half off the OnePlus 8 by opening a new account. However, you can't both trade in a device and get the new line discount — you need to pick one or the other.
