The Xiaomi Mi Max 2 was rumored to show up more than a month ago, but now it has finally arrived. Xiaomi unveiled the handset at a launch event earlier today in Beijing and it boasts a full metal unibody and rounded edges.
As the name suggests, the Mi Max 2 does things big, packing a 6.44-inch display and a whopping 5,300 mAh battery (with USB Type-C connectivity). The handset also comes with Quick Charge 3.0 which Xiaomi says will allow you to top it up by as much as 68% in a one hour charge.
On the back is a 12 MP Sony IMX386 camera sensor with 1.25μm large pixels and phase detection autofocus and you'll also find a fingerprint scanner mounted there.
Other specs are still to be announced, but we anticipate a 5 MP front-facing camera and a Snapdragon 626 chipset. The screen is also likely to come in at 1080p resolution.
Speculation from last month suggested the device would be priced at 1,499 yuan (around $215). We'll let you know when we learn more.
