Samsung has announced VR Live Pass, which brings a number of live events to the Gear VR headset. The company has joined forces with UFC, X Games, and Live Nation and will start streaming events in just a few days. VR Live Pass will be available through the Samsung VR app in early June and is free of charge.
The first event that will be streamed live is the UFC fight between Aldo and Holloway, which is scheduled to kick off in Rio de Janeiro on June 3. In addition to the fight, you'll also get access to additional VR content including pre-event and post-event show highlights.
If fighting isn't your thing but you do like sports, you might want to consider watching the X Games Minneapolis. You'll be able to check out professional BMX riders and skaters compete at a high level between July 13 and 16.
The third event Samsung will stream is a music concert with international artists, which is organized by Live Nation. Although an exact date hasn't been mentioned yet, Samsung did say that the concert will take place in August.
With VR Live Pass, Samsung is trying to make its virtual reality platform even more appealing to users. It's definitely on the right track, although it should make sure to add a few more live events for free each month if it really wants to spark consumer interest.
