Suddenly can't access Settings due to lockscreen

This morning I discovered that I can't access my phone Settings. When I press the Settings button, I get a lockscreen that appears to be wanting me to enter a PIN. I have no idea how this happened. The rest of my phone functions are normal. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
