Best HTC U11 cases

The HTC U11 is a fantastic return to form for a company that failed to make a significant impact in the last few years with its other flagships. With an all new metal and glass construction, superb display, the latest and greatest processing package, a fantastic audio experience with both the external speakers and headphones, an impressive camera, and good battery life, the HTC U11 checks all the right boxes. Despite some tough competition in the flagship space, HTC finally has a worthy contender on offer with the U11.

HTC U11 review

To keep your shiny new smartphone in pristine condition and safe from accidental bumps and drops, an extra layer of protection is never a bad idea. Which is why, we've rounded up some of the best protective cases and covers that are currently available for the HTC U11!

Note: Many case manufacturers have released cases for the U11 without a cutout for the rear microphone. As they release revised, correct versions, we will continue to update this list. All the cases in the roundup below come with the required cutout for the rear mic.

Spigen Liquid Crystal

The Spigen Liquid Crystal case is a transparent TPU case that lets you show off the beautiful design of the smartphone while offering some protection from accidental bumps and drops with reinforced corners. The power button and volume rocker are covered but easy to press, and there are precise cutouts for the camera, USB-C port, and all the mics, including the rear microphone. This case is also squeeze compatible to allow you to take advantage of the HTC Edge Sense feature. The Spigen Liquid Crystal will be available on June 26 and is up for pre-order with a price point of $10.99.

TopACE ultra-thin case

The TopACE case is another ultra-thin, transparent TPU case that lets you show off the design of the phone while keeping it safe from accidental bumps, drops, and scratches. The power button and volume rocker are covered, and there are precise cutouts for the camera, USB-C port, and all the mics, including the rear microphone. The case is also thin enough to make use of the HTC Edge Sense feature, and a soft touch finish adds some grip. This TopACE case is priced at just $7.99.

Incipio Octane

If you are looking for a thin case but with a little more protection, the Incipio Octane is the way to go. The case comes with a rigid polycarbonate shell and a textured TPU bumper to keep the phone safe from bumps and drops, and the textured pattern on the bumper adds a lot of grip. The volume rocker and power button are covered, and there are precise cutouts for the camera, USB-C port, and the rear microphone. The color options for the Incipio Octane inclue black, navy, and raspberrry, and is priced at $24.99.

Spigen Rugged Armor

The Rugged Armor is one of my favorite cases from Spigen, and offers quite a lot of protection without adding significant bulk to the phone. It is a single piece TPU case that leverage air cushion technology to keep the device safe from bumps and drops, and a raised bezel up front keep the display safe. Carbon fiber elements add a touch of style, and while the buttons are covered, there are precise cutouts for the camera, USB-C port, and all four mics. The case is also compatible with Edge Sense. The Spigen Rugged Armor will be available from June 21, and is priced at $12.99.

Incipio DualPro

The Incipio DualPro offers multi-layer protection for your smartphone with the combination of a TPU shell with a soft touch finish and a shock absorbing hard Plextonium frame. The case provides military grade protection and has been drop tested safe up to 12 feet. The buttons are protected, and there are precise cutouts for the USB-C port, camera, and all four mics. Despite adding a little bit of thickness to the phone, the case is still Edge Sense compatible, which is great. Available color options currently include gunmetal, merlot, navy, and black, and the Incipio DualPro is priced at $29.99.

Mustaner Armor

The Mustaner Armor case offers a lot of protection for your smartphone against accidental bumps and drops. The case combines a soft TPU core and a hard shell with a beveled, textured back that adds some grip to phone and is great for shock absorption. A raised lip up front keep the display safe as well. There are precise cutouts for the USB-C port and camera and this revised version now comes with a cutout for the rear mic, while the buttons are covered. Available color options include black and blue, and the case is currently priced at just $7.99.

Official HTC cases

HTC hasn't launched a lot of official accessories for the U11, but there are few cases that are available to keep the phone safe. These include –

  • HTC Clear Shield case: The Clear Shield case is a hard shell polycarbonate snap on case that lets you show off the beautiful design of the phone. The case doesn't offer a whole lot of protection, with exposed buttons and sides, but with protected corners, the Clear Shield case will get the job done if you aren't generally clumsy with your device. This case is available in the box when you buy the U11.
  • Genuine leather flip case: This case is made with genuine leather that looks professional and fantastic and the inside of the flip cover is microfiber to keep the display scratch free when the cover is closed. The phone slots safely into what is essentially the Clear Shield case, and there is a precise cutout for the rear mic available. The case can be used to prop up the phone in the landscape orientation, and it also comes with a single slot for a credit card, ID, or some cash. This HTC genuine leather flip case for the U11 is priced at $36.99.

So there you have it for this roundup of some of the best protective cases and covers that are currently available for the HTC U11! The list is admittedly somewhat limited, which might be because of the design error with regards to the rear mic rophone cutout, but we will continue to keep it updated as more cases are launched for this phone.
