Just ahead of the official start of CES 2016, Lenovo has announced its newest Chrome OS powered device, the Thinkpad 13 Chromebook.

The latest Lenovo Chromebook is powered by an Intel Celeron processor at the lowest level, with i3 and i5 options also available, up to 8GB RAM, and up to 32GB storage. You also get a 13-inch 1080p display, 1 USB port, two Type-C ports, and a 42Wh battery that should get about 10 hours battery life.

Interestingly enough, there's even a Windows-powered version of the Thinkpad 13, which offers the same base specs, though it has a few differences including a Trackpoint pointing stick embedded in the keyboard, an HDMI port, three USB ports, one type-C port, up to 16GB RAM, and up to 512GB storage.

The new Thinkpad 13 is one of the few laptops out there available in both Chrome OS and Windows versions. Spec wise, the Thinkpad 13 might not be in the same league as the Chrome Pixel family, but it's still one of the beefier Chrome OS devices out there. At $399 for the base model, it's not the cheapest Chromebook, but it's still fairly competitively priced.

For those interested in the Thinkpad 13 Chromebook, you'll have the chance to get your hands on it this summer, with a launch slated for sometime in June.
