We're still a couple days away from the onslaught that is CES, but it's never too soon to tease the news. And that's exactly what Alcatel Onetouch is doing with its affordable Pixi 4 line.
The range includes four devices — smartphones that come in at 3.5 inches, 4 inches and 6 inches, plus a 7-inch tablet. They're considered to be "premium entry-level devices offering a comprehensive user experience in design, audio, camera and battery life," Alcatel says.
In addition, Alcatel announced an accompanying smartwatch for children that also serves as a GPS tracker. So parents can call or send messages to their kids, the kids can reply or make calls to pre-determined contacts — and best of all Mom and Dad can keep track of where their youngsters are. There's also some geofencing involved, so parents can be notified whenever the kids leave a specific area. It'll first be available in Europe and Latin America.
Stay tuned for more on this and everything else going on at CES in Las Vegas.
