Acer Announces Family-Friendly Iconia One 8 Tablet, Coming To North America In February For $99

The cost of tablets has come down significantly in the last few years, which makes them viable as a family-oriented computing device. That's the approach Acer is taking with the new Iconia One 8, which will retail for a mere $99 when it comes to North America next month for $99.

So what does a hundred bucks of tablet get you? The Iconia One 8 (B1-850) will have an 8-inch HD screen (1280 x 800), 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage with a microSD slot, a 4600mAh battery, and a MediaTek quad-core processor. So the specs are pretty modest, and it ships with Android 5.1.
