Notification sounds while headphones are plugged in

So, I just confirmed that when headphones are plugged into the OP3 and you receive a notification for a phone call or text, the notification tone plays through the headphones and the OP3 speaker (if you have the slider set to 'all notifications'). If you have the slider on priority, the notification tone isn't heard at all, through the speaker or in the headphones. This behavior is different, as far as I know, than any other Android device that I've owned. On other devices, when headphones are plugged in, you hear notification tones in the headphones only. I'm on a stock 3.2.2 device that is rooted.

Anyone else seeing this and bothered by it?
